SUMMARY:APSEC 2016
DESCRIPTION:Attending the 23rd Asia-Pacific Software Engineering Conference (APSEC 2016 )\n6th-9th December 2016\, University of Waikato\, Hamilton\, New Zealand \nSoftware has been increasingly utilised to improve the quality of lives and\, subsequently\, to change the world in a myriad of unforeseeable ways. Software systems have evolved to meet the changing needs of society\, while society has in turn evolved in response to the use of innovative and omnipresent software systems. The emergence of contemporary software for the evolving world has posed unprecedented challenges to software engineering professionals and their community. The 23rd Asia-Pacific Software Engineering Conference (APSEC 2016) provides an excellent opportunity for software engineering researchers and practitioners around the world to exchange ideas on how to address these challenges.

SUMMARY:QuASoQ 2016
DESCRIPTION:Goals of the Workshop\nThe workshop aims at gathering together researchers and practitioners to discuss experiences in the application of state of the art approaches to measure\, assess and evaluate the quality of both software systems as well as software development processes in general and software test processes in particular. \nSoftware development organisations are always forced to develop software in the “right” quality. Hence\, quality specification and quality assurance are crucial. Although there are lots of approaches to deal with quantitative quality aspects\, it is still challenging to choose a suitable set of techniques that best fit to the specific project and organisations constraints. \nEven though approaches\, methods\, and techniques are known for quite some time now\, little effort has been spent on the exchange on the real world problems with quantitative approaches. For example\, only limited research has been devoted to empirically evaluate risks\, efficiency or limitations of different testing techniques in industrial settings. \nHence\, one main goal of the workshop is to exchange experience\, present new promising approaches and to discuss how to set up\, organise\, and maintain quantitative approaches to software quality. \nTopics of Interest\nThe topics of interest include\, but are not restricted to the following: \n\nNew approaches to measurement\, evaluation\, comparison and improvement of software quality\nMetrics and quantitative approaches in agile projects\nCase studies and industrial experience reports on successful or failed application of quantitative approaches to software quality\nTools\, infrastructure and environments supporting quantitative approaches\nEmpirical studies\, evaluation and comparison of measurement techniques and models\nQuantitative approaches to test process improvement\, test strategies or testability\nEmpirical evaluations or comparisons of testing techniques in industrial settings

SUMMARY:ICEER 2016
DESCRIPTION:The International Conference on Engineering Education and Research\, 2016 (ICEER 2016) is jointly organised by the School of Computing\, Engineering and Mathematics at Western Sydney University\, Sydney\, Australia and the International Network for Engineering Education and Research (iNEER). \niNEER is a global professional organisation formed by the world engineering community to promote mutual progress in teaching and learning through international cooperation. iNEER is a non-profit organisation based in Potomac\, Maryland\, USA. The widening network of educators and researchers associated with iNEER covers 98 countries and is linked through the iNEER website\, archival publications\, electronic communication system and various conferences\, workshops and retreats worldwide. \nICEER 2016 will be hosted at the Parramatta Campus which is situated on the Parramatta River\, 20km from the Sydney CBD and is well connected by rail\, road and ferry networks. Sydney \, with its population of 5 million\, is the largest city in Australia. The traditional landmarks of the Sydney Harbour; including the Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge are within easy reach of the conference venue as is the Blue Mountains  World Heritage National Park. \nThe development in engineering and technology is advancing rapidly\, which is making currency and delivery of existing curricula in engineering education challenging. The recent trends and advancements in engineering education will be discussed by many leading educators from all around the world who will gather at iCEER 2016.The main objectives of this conference are to provide an opportunity of professional interaction amongst the educators\, researchers\, academics and students\, and to showcase the latest developments and trends in engineering education. \nAuthors are invited to submit papers on a wide range of topics on current best practices in education of future Engineers as well as practices which should be adopted in the wake of recent research and growing demands due to the fast paced advances in technology applications
