I felt genuinely honoured to present our paper, “SuSoftPro: Sustainability Profiling for Software,” at a workshop dedicated to exploring the essential requirements for sustainability during the 26th IEEE International Requirements Engineering Conference (RE’18) in Banff.
This conference is more than just a gathering; it is a significant platform where passionate individuals from academia, government, and industry come together to share insights and address challenges shaping our future. Having the opportunity to present our work and connect with such experts in requirements engineering was an inspiring experience.
In our paper, we introduced the SuSoftPro tool, designed to help requirements engineers understand the sustainability impacts of software requirements. By employing a Fuzzy Rating Scale and the TOPSIS method, the tool provides stakeholders with a clear and accessible way to visualise sustainability, featuring a five-star rating system and detailed bar graphs. We aim to offer a thoughtful framework that integrates sustainability considerations seamlessly into the software development process.
I sincerely valued the chance to share our research and engage with feedback from the community. The insightful discussions we had were truly enriching and strengthened my belief in the importance of this work for a more sustainable future.
